Welcome to my website, featuring pictures and stories from books, magazines or other works that are out of copyright, and therefore in the public domain.

I love old books, and one of the first things I do when visiting an area (or planning to) is hunt down the book shops, but regrettably these seem to be falling by the wayside. I am, however, fortunate enough to live in Horncastle, Lincolnshire, which has a thriving secondhand and antiquarian book trade. At one time Horncastle was known for it’s antique shops, but the trade in antiques is on a downturn, so many of those shops have closed. Hopefully books and book shops can bring some much needed visitors to the town in the future.
