Creating backup / restore disks for Lenovo Ideapad S9e

Having not received a recovery disk containing the operating system, for my Lenovo Ideapad S9e (DVDs cost less than 50p so there’s zero excuse for Lenovo not including) it seemed to fall to me to create it. Unfortunately Lenovo doesn’t even include software to create restore disks, unlike other companies, such as Toshiba for example.

Can’t see comments or comment box, Wordpress blog

I was helping a friend set up a new website, part of which used Wordpress as an easy way to keep a news section updated.

I’d set it up and managed to leave posts and comments, but then for some reason, something I changed made the comments, and comment box disappear.

Tracing Birth Parents – the final act

A few months ago, I wrote to my father, and didn’t receive a reply. I decided then , that maybe that was the natural end of my journey, and to leave it all alone. He had my contact details, if he wanted to get in touch in the future.

About a month after that, however, I was browsing through some records I’d collected, when I discovered that I’d missed something out, about his youngest daughters’ (my half sister obviously) wedding. I had her husbands’ surname, but hadn’t bothered to try and find his first name, so I searched the marriage records with his name first, and Rollinson as the partners’ surname. Easy to find.
