Creating backup / restore disks for Lenovo Ideapad S9e

Having not received a recovery disk containing the operating system, for my Lenovo Ideapad S9e (DVDs cost less than 50p so there’s zero excuse for Lenovo not including) it seemed to fall to me to create it. Unfortunately Lenovo doesn’t even include software to create restore disks, unlike other companies, such as Toshiba for example.

Lenovo Ideapad S9e – starting up the Netbook

Initially setting up the Lenovo Ideapad S9e is simplicity itself. Slot in the battery, plug in the power adapter, start up.

Buying a Netbook – Lenovo Ideapad S9e

I’d been toying with buying a mini-laptop (known as netbooks) for some time, as I’d find it useful for work, so when Tescos.com advertised the Lenovo Ideapad S9e for £199, I decided that it was too good to miss, even if it left me a little skint for a while!

Microsoft need to cut down on the amount of Windows versions

I like dabbling with new software, even when it’s in the beta phase, so the opportunity to test the next version of Windows (called Windows 7) was too much to resist. The operating system itself is excellent even in this early stage, but it seems that Microsoft hasn’t learnt anything from the Vista debacle.

RTFM – Read The ******* Manual!

The regular visitor to my site (aside from myself, there is at least one other :) ) would notice that I’ve been messing about with the layout and theme of the site. The new theme is called Thematic from a place called Themeshaper (link right at the bottom of this page) and I like the clean and sparse nature of the site now (leave a comment if you like/dislike).
