Support the Ghurkas!
Today I received an email from Joanna Lumley (yes THAT Joanna Lumley) thanking me for my support in the campaign to get justice for the Ghurkas. Recently a group of Ghurkas successfully challenged the British Governments immigration rules, which said that Ghurkas who were discharged from the regiment prior to 1997 had no right to settle in the UK, due to not having very strong ties to this country.
Thankfully the High Court threw that out, and the government is now reviewing all cases, which they should have done in the first place. The Ghurkhas have been fighting for the British Army for a very long time, and if that doesn’t qualify you as a British citizen then what does?
There is now a petition, which I signed, hence the email from Joanna, asking for the government to allow all retired Ghurkhas to settle here, and I fully agree with it.

Noooo, first Sara and now Gil
Don’t know why it took so long, but news just filtered through to me, that Gil Grissom is leaving CSI: Vegas. Won’t be the same without him, just as the stories seemed to be lacking something, once Sara Siddel had quit.
There is a certain amount of good news however, as Sara will be returning for a few episodes in S9, probably to help Gil leave, although there it is also rumoured that the miniature killer will make a return too, as will Lady Heather. It isn’t certain when he will actually leave, with CSI Guide speculating it will be part of Season 10.
CSI: Vegas Season 9 starts 9pm Octorber 9 in the US
