Well what can you do? You list an item, it sells, you send an invoice, they don’t bother paying. You then send a polite note asking whether there is a problem, and receive the response that the cheque is in the post. Five days later, no cheque, so you issue a non paying bidder alert through eBay. All right, and above board.
Except that four days later, the non paying bidder leaves negative feedback that makes it look as though YOU (the seller) have taken the money and not sent the goods!
Why can ‘buyers’ leave feedback when there is a non paying bidder alert open?
I now have to wait until the non paying bidder alert runs it’s course (seven days after opening) and then hope that I get the negative removed, but until them I’m reluctant to list items, especially when one is PayPal only!

this is going to get worse as well I think.
Once some of the more dubious buyers realise the feedback situation we’ll all be open to blackmail.
I too am very reluctant to list on eBay any more.

This has gotten worse over the last 6mths. i have had it done to me were i sent payment and had no product, lucky for me though paypal did help to resolve the situation.
I have had a good clearout and am also dubious about putting onto ebay. Think i rather take time out with the British weather and do a car boot.
@Rod
Think I’m seeing that more and more. Have bought something recently, and the seller states that once positive feedback is left, they will leave feedback.
@Victoria
That of course is the flip side, and PayPal is very good for buyers, but less so for buyers.
