Facebook account reinstated

Received an email from Facebook, informing me that after review my account had been re-instated, and informing me of the reason it was disabled in the first place.

One of Facebook’s main priorities is the comfort and safety of our users. Your account was disabled because you engaged in behavior other users reported as harassing in nature. It is a violation of Facebook’s Terms of Use to harass users on the site, whether through unsolicited messages, friend requests, pokes or other features.

After reviewing your account, however, we have decided to reactivate your account with a warning. We appreciate your cooperation going forward.

Have never harassed anyone through unsolicited messages, friends requests etc so I fail to see how on earth they could possibly have disabled my account, unless someone has maliciously reported me and they disabled without checking for evidence?

Stuff like this really, really annoys me. I wouldn’t mind if I had done any of the things that they accused me of, but I haven’t at all. The fact that I’ve been re-instated so quickly, would suggest that it’s a canned response, and that I was probably booted off in error. Have asked for clarification but no doubt I’ll get the old data protection forbids us from divulging etc.

get yourself banned properly - it’s something to be proud of :)

One possibility is: you cold have been reported accidently.
When messages etc come through on these sites the buttons for ‘accept’ and ‘authorize’ etc are right next to report links usually - somebody simply cold have clicked the wrong thing.

Yes. Just spoke to a friend who almost got kicked off of Facebook too, for messaging her friend too much. Wasn’t unsolicited obviously but their security system must be stupidly strict.

I’ve not been banned from Facebook but I must have had over 30 MySpace accounts cancelled
Unlike Craig I probably deserved it though :)
I still rue the day “Madam Chaton” got banned :(
It used to cover my weekly Sainbury’s bill !

The most amusing thing that came up between Craig and I was the day when I pointed out that I was now doing what I always criticized him for doing and he was doing what he always had a go at me for doing :)
    Good times !
    All the best
