Creating backup / restore disks for Lenovo Ideapad S9e

Having not received a recovery disk containing the operating system, for my Lenovo Ideapad S9e (DVDs cost less than 50p so there’s zero excuse for Lenovo not including) it seemed to fall to me to create it. Unfortunately Lenovo doesn’t even include software to create restore disks, unlike other companies, such as Toshiba for example.

Maybe [...]

Lenovo Ideapad S9e – starting up the Netbook

Initially setting up the Lenovo Ideapad S9e is simplicity itself. Slot in the battery, plug in the power adapter, start up.
So simple my sister could do it!

The usual Lenovo screen pops up first, with options to press F2 for Setup, and F12 for Boot Menu (note – you get F12 by pressing the blue [...]

Buying a Netbook – Lenovo Ideapad S9e

I’d been toying with buying a mini-laptop (known as netbooks) for some time, as I’d find it useful for work, so when Tescos.com advertised the Lenovo Ideapad S9e for £199, I decided that it was too good to miss, even if it left me a little skint for a while!

Ordering it was easy, paying for [...]

Can’t see comments or comment box, Wordpress blog

I was helping a friend set up a new website, part of which used Wordpress as an easy way to keep a news section updated.
I’d set it up and managed to leave posts and comments, but then for some reason, something I changed made the comments, and comment box disappear.

I spent ages hunting through the [...]

Tracing Birth Parents – the final act

A few months ago, I wrote to my father, and didn’t receive a reply. I decided then , that maybe that was the natural end of my journey, and to leave it all alone. He had my contact details, if he wanted to get in touch in the future.
About a month after that, however, I [...]

BLOODY EBAY!!!

I’m beginning to really hate eBay.

I hate the fact that they seem to be the only viable place to sell your old kit.
I hate the fact that they are so biased towards buyers, when it’s sellers that keep eBay afloat.
I hate their stupid feedback system that means I can’t leave negative feedback against crap buyers [...]
